Bay window can be an attractive feature in many homes and as they are such a prominent feature it is important to keep them looking nice. With windows costing a lot, carrying out home improvements yourself can save a great deal of money. Whether you have a bay or a bow windows, both types of design will have an impact on how much it will cost to fit windows or replace existing windows. Bow windows tend to be much cheaper as they are not structurally different from a standard flat window but with a bay windows will require the property to be structurally different. If you wanted to replace big standard windows with a different type of windows choosing a bow window would be cheaper as no brick work would need to be changed.

Most people who have bay windows in their homes will not attempt any repairs themselves, these types of windows can be more complex then other types of windows. Whilst they look quite a simple design how they are put together is not, they are made up of more pane of glass so joining them can be difficult. Removing of an old bay window would be easy but replacing it would not be. The cost of a bay or bow window is considerably more so trying to replace one yourself could be recipe for disaster. Looking after windows should be a must, no window is an exception. If you want your windows to have a long life preventing any damage should be your priority.

It can be the case for many homes that changing the style of the window can increase the value of the property and the kerb appeal. If you are looking at selling your property and it has ugly windows replacing the windows to a bay or bow style could really make it stand out.
