Further travels in Shoreditch during London Design Week took me to JAMESPLUMB’s One Room Hotel. I adore the sensibilities of the design duo, Hannah Plumb and James Russell, who salvage forgotten treasures and re-invent them as contemporary, elegant design pieces. So what would an entire suite designed by them look like? I visited the One Room Hotel to find out.
The project is hosted by Hostem, a new East London menswear outlet whom JAMESPLUMB recently designed the interior for and this new project is an extension of the neighbouring store. 
The space doubles up as a show case for the designers’ new pieces during the day and by night it is available as a cosy stop over, a one room hotel. 
It features a considered library as well as a selection from JAMESPLUMB’s own film archive. All in the setting of the duo’s time warm, lovingly restored, often one-off products.
