Although its not the same type of discovery as exposing a new species of toad, PANTONE® 17-1463 Tangerine Tango is the brand new color added to Pantones roster that monitors professional color standards in the design world. “Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it,” said Leatrice Eiseman, the Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “Reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy.” So in an ode to the latest great of reddish-orange shades, Tangerine Tango merits a Top Ten list with a broad range of items that hit its hue (or at least get close) to give you the best design options for 2012.

Designed in-house at Girsberger by Stefan Westmeyer, the pure form of the Yara WL Chair is built using four legs of solid Oak or Ash wood that splay out like a tripod. The upholstery can be done in leather or fabric, and features an overall style reminiscent of early Eames-style seating.

Described as an exclamation point, this fluorescent orange pendant light by Tom Dixon is known as Fluoro. Made of polycarbonate, its a blow-molded suspension light that is externally lacquered with a matte finish that comes with clear wire and a black ceiling canopy.

For those with a wild side, the flame-like Burlesque bed frame by the Italian manufacturer, Romeo Orsi, is an upholstered bed frame that leaves little to the imagination. Its thick, wavy headboard is the ideal backdrop to a black bedding collection (as shown) but would look surprisingly lovely with white or geometric designs that throw off its tall and curvy backdrop.

Withing the Victoria and Albert Collection by Ron Arad for Moroso, the low table flaunts a circular surface with three modern, polyester resin legs. Using steel supports with stress-resistant polyurethane foam in the sofas that match, the recyclable units come in black, yellow, red, orange, white and transparent white colors.
5. Persimmon Jupe Vase DESIGNER: Robert Kuo MANUFACTURER: McGuire PRICE: $1,775+ Dimensions: 14H x 8dia. Featuring layer after layer of molten glass, artist Robert Kuo made the Persimmon Jupe Vase in a brilliant shade of orange using ancient glass-blowing skills. Its elegant form and handmade craftsmanship ensures that no two are identically produced and sold for McGuire to the interior design industry.
